Guided Fly Fishing Trips
Upper Kenai River Float Trips
within the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge
Keen Eye Anglers specializes in full and half day guided, drift boat-based, fly fishing trips on the Upper Kenai River. The Upper Kenai is a non-motorized stretch of water that meanders a scenic 17-miles from Kenai Lake to Skilak Lake. Our float trips focus on the 10 miles of premium water within the most wild and remote portions of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, including the famed “Kenai Canyon.” This section of river is famous among anglers for its abundance and size of wild rainbow trout and Dolly Varden, along with its healthy runs of sockeye (red) and silver (coho) salmon. This is our featured, premium trip, and is highly recommended for the casual angler seeking a well-rounded Alaskan experience as well as the serious fly-fisher aiming to land the fish of a lifetime.
Available: June 11 through October 15
Trip Costs:
Full-day (8-10 hours) $275 per person (up to 4 anglers)
Exclusive (8-10 hours) $825 for the boat (3 or less anglers)
Half-day (4-5 hours) $175 per person
Meeting Time & Location: Trip departure times and meeting locations vary based on fishing conditions, time of season, and your travel schedule. We will contact you at least 24 hours in advance to confirm the meeting place and time.
Trip Goals: Our goal is to provide you with the best possible fly fishing experience given the conditions of the day. We aim to float through the “Kenai Canyons” on every full-day trip. However, due to the unperdictable weather patterns in this area, we reserve the right to bypass this section of water should the conditions present a potential safety concern.
Walk-In and Fly-Out Fly Fishing Trips
We offer a variety of walk-in and fly-out fly fishing opportunities for rainbow trout, steelhead, Dolly Varden, and Arctic Grayling on some of the Kenai Peninsula’s small clear water streams and lakes. These trips are a perfect addition to those spending multiple days fishing on Upper Kenai River. Whether you are looking to fly-out to a high alpine lake to target arctic grayling or wanting to stalk rainbows and dollies in a small stream environment, we can customize these trips to suit your angling goals. Please contact us to discuss the various possibilities.
